Technical Translation Case Studies

In 2005 we provided translation of over 50 manuals, from German into Italian and French, for the Siemens instabus building management system product line. The project had a very tough deadline, and we delivered over 120,000 words in less than two weeks using a team of four translators and one editor. This project was managed from our German office. Siemens was very happy with the work, and Global Translations is now a recommended supplier to other groups at Siemens and at Infineon AG, a Siemens sister company. In 2005, Global Translations signed a frame contract with Infineon for German to English translation.
In 2005 we provided Japanese to English translation of a wide range of IT documents for Konica-Minolta Business Systems in the US. These translations underwent rigorous validation in Japan and were approved by the IPA (Japanese equivalent to the ISO organization.
Innoplana Umwelttechnik AG is worldwide leader in construction and integration of industrial process plants. In 2004 and 2005, Global Translations has provided translation of a wide range of engineering and technical documents (over 200,000 words) in the following language pairs: Swedish into English, German into English, German into French, English into German.
In 2004 and 2005, we translated a documentation suite of over 1,000 pages for Alvarion (stock symbol: ALVR, http://www.alvarion.com), a leading developer of wireless systems, Into both Spanish and French. The Spanish translation spanned over several revisions, with significant cost savings realized due to the use of Translation Memory. Translation of product warning labels into over 20 languages for Avaya (http://www.avaya.com). Languages included German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Hungarian. Slovenian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Greek, Latvia, Lithuanian, Maltese, Portuguese, Slovak, Finnish, Swedish, Icelandic, Norwegian.
